Kitty Johnston Celebrant – Celebrant Services Business Policy

 

"us", "we",  "our" means Kitty Johnstone - Celebrant and those undertaking the Investigation.

"you", "your", "yourselves" means the client who has hired us to undertake a Celebrant Service.

1. Purpose

This policy outlines the terms and conditions under which we provide a professional celebrant services. These include weddings, naming ceremonies, house blessings, coming-of-age ceremonies, mother-to-be blessings, divorce ceremonies, and other personal celebrations.
Our goal is to provide a respectful, personalised, and meaningful experience for every client.

2. Services Offered

 We provide a range of personalised ceremonies, including:

  • Weddings and Commitment Ceremonies

  • Naming Ceremonies (for babies, children, or adults)

  • House Blessings and Space Clearings

  • Coming-of-Age Ceremonies

  • Mother-to-Be Blessings / Blessing ways

  • Divorce or Separation Ceremonies

  • Other Personal or Family Ceremonies (by request)

Each ceremony is designed collaboratively with the client to reflect their beliefs, values, and intentions.

3. Bookings and Payments

  • A non-refundable booking fee of 20% is required to secure your chosen date and time.

  • The booking fee confirms your reservation and covers initial preparation and administrative costs.

  • The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days before the ceremony date.

  • Payments to be made via bank transfer.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Cancellations made up to 48 hours before the scheduled ceremony are eligible for a full refund, excluding the non-refundable booking fee.

  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the ceremony are eligible for a 50% refund of the total service fee (excluding the booking fee).

  • If we must cancel due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of all fees paid will be issued, or a suitable replacement celebrant will be arranged (where possible).

5. Changes and Rescheduling

  • Requests to change the date or time must be made in writing and are subject to availability.

  • If the new date or time cannot be accommodated, the cancellation policy (Section 4) will apply.

6. Ceremony Planning and Content

  • Each ceremony is created in collaboration with the client.

  • Clients will be given the opportunity to review and approve all ceremony scripts before the event.

  • Any requested changes should be submitted no later than one week before the ceremony.

  • For weddings, the celebrant will ensure all legal components required by law are included and completed.

7. Legal Obligations (for Weddings Only)

  • Clients are responsible for providing all required legal documents and identification within the required timeframe.

  • [Your Business Name] will not be held responsible for delays or invalid documentation affecting the legality of the marriage.

  • All weddings will be conducted in accordance with the Marriage Act 1961 (Australia) and relevant celebrant guidelines.

8. Professional Standards

  • The celebrant will arrive punctually, professionally attired, and perform the ceremony with care, respect, and attention to detail.

  • Confidentiality and privacy will be maintained at all times.

  • The celebrant reserves the right to refuse service in circumstances that compromise personal safety, legal compliance, or professional integrity.

9. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, illness, accidents, extreme weather, or government restrictions.

10. Agreement

By confirming a booking and paying the required fees, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Business Policy.
